Pompeii Ruins

From Tendering off the shore of Sorrento, Italy, I was able to use this as a gateway port to go and Visit the historical Pompeii. In Pompeii On August 24, 79 AD, the Vesuvius Volcano erupted, throwing uncontrollable amounts of ash and Rock in to the air. This ash, dust, and rock had to come down, and by doing so burying the nearby town of Pompeii and destroying everything it touched, killing around 3,000 people. The rest of the population of 20,000 people escaped having already fled, and this ash and soot had left this city empty whilst also preserving the city in its state from that fateful day.

I am more of a fan of beautiful beaches, but this was defiantly one place i enjoyed visiting. I feel that i pick up on energy, and i felt sad whilst walking around the town, knowing that this really was a terrible disaster that happened, and you could feel just an atmosphere. I can not even imagine the panic that the people of Pompeii must have been feeling when the Volcano Erupted. Continue looking through the photos of my visit, so you can put together the puzzle of what this town was really like in its day.
