Sooo. New York... Well i can only say that out of everywhere that i have been world wide, this one blew me away. I have always wanted to go, and i was very lucky that the one time arrived in this City that never sleeps, was intact on the night before my birthday. Nothing prepared for the night that was to come. Turning 31 at midnight in New York was just awesome. The energy within that city at night is just crazy, and i highly advise anyone to go there at least once. The moment we arrived during the day we visited as much as we could whilst it was Daylight. Starting with Ground Zero to visit the the Ground Zero 9/11 Memorial Garden to pay our respects to all those that lost their lives on that tragic day. Now this may not make sense to you, but i can feel things. I know when walking in to a room when something bad has happened, or even an argument. Some people can feel these vibes in the atmosphere. For me, this happened here. It felt very un-easy for me, and i found myself feeling quite sad and upset just thinking about those that lost their lives, and also reading all the names on the memorial just brought me back to what i saw on TV the day that it happened. It is an event that did not just shock the US, but also the rest of the world.
From here on we carried on doing our way up the City in to the main area of down town and moving through all the touristy places. Walking up broadway, WallStreet, Harlem, Empire State Building, and visiting Central park, which was actually a lot larger than i expected it to be. We walked for ages, and soon after doing our trip through this awesome park, i soon needed to eat.
After food, we took the subway to Times square, because everyone has to visit this place when in New York. The energy is unreal, and the whole place glows. This was during the day, and at night it is just unbelievable. It is still just as busy at 4am in the morning, and you wonder why they call it the City that never sleeps. We were stood in McDonalds getting some post clubbing Breakfast, and looking out the window, because of all the lights, it just looked like it was the middle of the day due to the Glow. Seriously, it was just unreal. I can't tell you what part of New York was my favourite, as it was all just amazing. Special thanks to all of my friend who joined me that night for my birthday celebrations, and especially to Becca, Who let me stay at hers that night. We had a very good night. Photos below.
